A once in a lifetime experience and adventure!
We have an incredible back country experience planned for this coming summer '24. We will be offering an all-inclusive, week long guided trip out of Horseshoe Meadows, fly fishing for the purest strain of Golden Trout one can find. This is bucket list material, an opportunity unlike any other to fish for one of the rarest strains of trout on the planet.
In partnership with McGee Creek Pack Station and Golden Trout Guiding Co., join us for a trip of a lifetime deep into the Eastern Sierra back country. This week long trip requires a certain level of hiking ability. We will be on foot while our packing and trail team carries in our gear so we can focus on fly fishing between destinations.

Golden Trout Trip 2024
Details & Itinerary
This seven-day pack trip provides an incredible backcountry experience for both novice and experienced anglers to enjoy some of the best fly fishing the High Sierra has to offer. Guests travel into remote areas of the Golden Trout Wilderness in search of isolated species of Golden Trout alongside professional guides from Golden Trout Guiding Co. and Eastern Sierra Sportfishing. The waters of the Kern Plateau hold the purest strains of Golden Trout in the world, a fish so unique and colorful it has been named the official state fish of California. Pack mules carry all the guests’ food, camping gear and personal items while experienced and knowledgeable packers set up a comfortable camp each night. Our camp chef prepares delicious backcountry meals for guests to enjoy around the campfire. Please join us for this unique opportunity to experience the unspoiled beauty of the High Sierra while fishing for the iconic Golden Trout. Layover days at Ramshaw Meadow, Little Whitney Meadow and Big Whitney Meadow provide guests with ample time on the water. The layover at Little Whitney Meadows allows guests the opportunity to day hike to Volcano Meadow and fish the meandering waters of Volcano Creek. According to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife “the Volcanic Creek strain of California golden trout is considered to be the most genetically pure population within the native range.” This infrequently visited area of the Golden Trout Wilderness offers spectacular views and a high probability of wildlife sightings.
Please join us for a trip of a lifetime that should be included on any serious angler's bucket list!
